Today i understood the word: Plagiarism
which means: wrongful appropriation or you can say: The practice of Taking someone Else's work or idea and passing them off as ones own. it can also mean kidnapper.
I am totally in love with this word.
who all claim they are not into it? is it true?
when we go to an restaurant we always copy the other table isnt it. no this isnt Plagiarism as this is pure form of coping
in today's day Copy means Xerox - but we also use the word "xerox copy"
because xerox is a company name which produces machine to copy - copy machines.

Wikipedia says:
Plagiarism is defined in dictionaries as the "wrongful appropriation," "close imitation," or "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work, but the notion remains problematic with nebulous boundaries. The modern concept of plagiarism as immoral and originality as an ideal emerged in Europe only in the 18th century, particularly with the Romantic movement, while in the previous centuries authors and artists were encouraged to "copy the masters as closely as possible" and avoid "unnecessary invention."
Sounds quite wicked isnt it -but that could be the ginger on the ice too.

you need to be secretive you need to find references you need to research n style and mediums and materials, you need to be skillful ---basically you should have a fantastic balanced diet.
how about -- you touch somebody and you could copy him. hope one day the technology can take you there -- touch screen.

When studying art history, we were taught the difference between a copy and a reproduction. It was very interesting. A reproduction can be of any dimension, but for a copy to be a copy, it has to be of the same dimensions as the original :)
ReplyDeleteyeah but the concept of reproduction is different. reproduction is not a look alike or a copy it is a edition. it is interesting to know about the same dimensions. yeah reproduction can be enlarged. but reproduction means repeating and that i dont like. copy is not a repeat it is unique.
