Oslo Norway Feb 2013: Series- 1

Ice breaking - first glimpse

chilling cold - i landed and took a train towards town got out and saw it was heavily snowing and me with my bag-pack and a suitcase dragging on the snow walking towards the hotel - a 5 min walk took me 30min. and then people there told me- today it is the first day of wonderful winter - so i said oh this is winter?- my friend said yes it is snowing till now the weather was horrible - just cold COLD and COLD - snow fall is a good sign - but i have to admit it was really fun to be in that snow fall. it is like monsoon in coastal areas.

Bombay - oslo - Bombay = +34°C - -24°C - +40°C

Basically when it snows the temperature comes down. it becomes warmer. - this information is only for tropical countries

their first winter sun - which was there for max one hour

coast of the famous Oslo Opera House (Operahuset) built by the Norwegian architecture company - Snøhetta  - this small boat is made of glass on the ice which will melt and become the Skagerrak which will meet the North sea.
about the sculpture: The sculpture, called She Lies, seems to float on the waters of the Oslo Fjord but actually stands on a concrete platform and can turn on its own axis, moved by the winds and the tides. That’s in line with its dedication to change, as its creator Monica Bonvicini sought to create a public artwork in an urban redevelopment area of Oslo that’s changing all the time.
