Golden Camels, Laverton WA Aug 30th (s1)

Skippers - Perth to Barrack Granny Smith Mine

I came to Perth on 29th afternoon. Got some rains from Bombay. met my friend Rina and had a lovely dinner with Rina and Marco, Katherine (both from Spaced), Vietnamese food in Perth - good food

Next day morning 5am Katherine and myself left for Laverton WA.

IASKA which has became Spaced -- through Asialink sponsors my residency for 10weeks in WA. there are 9 partners for this project - check their website:

http://www.spaced.org.au/projects/archana-hande

a small aircraft which carries the mine workers to the site - 30 seater
we got a free ride, these aircrafts are meant for miners and they travel up-down to Perth and the mine sites. we where lucky to get some free ride.

Few images i could take from the flight - i waited for the best site to come closer - when that came the lady in-charge came and told me to switch of my camera we were about to land - so i dont know if we are allowed to take pic or is it the electronics device to be off before landing.

The pic i wanted to take was a gold mine site and it had some organic colours - Red surrounded with dirty sap green. but next time will try my luck.
i also missed photographing - when this aircraft before landing takes out the wheel it looks like some science fiction airship on the outer space - will try to do a drawing.

from the aircraft:

we met the amazing lady Annette Nykiel she came to pick us up - she runs an art gallery + a women organisation called Marlu Kuru Kuru (another local name for kangaroo, here, locally kangaroo have many names) and she also works for the mines... too many things she does. she will be hosting me along with the Shire organisation.

we drove drove drove in an empty road for 20 Km before we reached this small town called laverton.
