The thing is we get attracted to a place which 'Pleases' our eyes because we have been fed with these info'S (from childhood more in a art school)- and our brain like a magnet goes and gets pulled and tries to attach itself - broken walls - raw spaces - rough edge - unpolished surface -broken wooden staircase - rough exposed old textured walls - the old smell - "Attached history" which makes you go into the imagination of reconstructing the time. History which involves the spice - trade - and lost city it is like blackforest with cream and cherry or fresh mango with vanilla ice cream and cream or poochka in gariahat road with a mug of beer. 

focus spot lights - yellow lights - dark spaces with one concentrated light - the old B & W photos or the film like - Madhubala in Howrah bridge in a dim romantic bar with her hair shinning and half of her face in dark and one "lut" on her face which is in light coming down the stairs and singing: Aaiye Meharbaan - fan blowing and the shinning hair flying - Ashok kumar with a Cig (no pipe this time) and the handsome K.N.Singh in white suit.

when you enter this club you will meet Yesudas, rafisaab, mukesh and the person who is the founder of the club Mehboob. then you notice all have Malayalam music notes and sp the singer has the whole song written in Malayalam and you wonder what going to happen to Mukesh  but as soon as they started singing and you close your eyes it was amazing a total Justice to M & M. Sanchayan took me in the afternoon of the opening of the KMB so we invited them for the mega event but they refused saying they have a program scheduled and if we get bored in the Opening ceremony we can always join them. 

They are total Bhakat of Mukesh and they only sing mukesh songs. 

 

  
The opp camp posters on the walls of the city and few collected them as souvenirs - after many years some collector might auction them.

Darbar hall renovated - controversial renovation - beautifully done but just had one krishnakumars sculpture. was a great chance to have retro of krishnakumar and give the city their artists due.

It was amazing to go to this Syrian Christian church which is dedicated to twins. i went with my two friends - and through Gigi i could actually see few old Syrian churches - i was introduced through an insider. Gigi was born and brought up there. within 24 hours i don't know how many churches we visited and most of them where around 1400 or 1500++ 

it is so amazing to see it so local - frankly i had the same feeling when i visit few religious places in my ancestral home town. i am not generalising but the essence was the same. there are many small small things which 'looks' the same - of-course i can also say the believe is also same. i can also make a huge statement which sounds like secular atheist by saying - other than the idol and the bible all where equally same. which can be true and false depends how you see it. 

Girls go to the church wearing half sarees and gajara - the same oil lamp and pradhikshana from left to write - yeah Buddhist maybe started it? not sure where things start and where it ends and how people claim to be only only theirs© 

There was an event organized maybe last year where all the twins from that district came and they recorded it and this poster archives all of them. it is so amazing to see fathers and nuns along with others. it was really a huge poster. 

If some one can translate this for me? i know this is like a foundation stone. other than 765, 1590, 5, 4 and 22 i dont know what it means. so looking at this figures we can of course make a story: like: 

The foundation of this church was done in 765AD and then in 1590AD it went through renovation and it became bigger and you can see strange European influence. it took 22years - no it cant be maybe it took 5 years to make. it has 4 doors? but still wondering about 22? or maybe all the numbers links to the dates of the ruler change in the church - who has the control of the church - or might be the change of bishops

Southists soldiers against the Portuguese army - sounds quite convincing. 

The two images says it is a translation of the original and i require one more translation of it. 

St. Mary's Knanaya church, Kaduthuruthi, Kottayam dist.Established in AD 400.in this church everybody talks about the huge 50ft monolithic cross. but for me the images on the church outside walls was very interesting which has a very oral transitional narrative story. it has a very organic local quality to the styling of it.

Preparation for Khukuri Rum or local rum or ark: 
not sure. But if i have to believe the old man who was drying these wheat told me
as per his recipe- 
First Boil the Wheat then crush it and dry it in Sun for few days and again soak it in water for few days and ferment it and extract the juice and TaDa... the rum is ready.

Kumari Ghar - the architecture of it is amazing but you pray the girl who is now the Kumari (the human god child) dosn't come out and give you a darshan - as you would like to rescue her and teach her live a normal life.
