Can these be passed as the Classical landscape oil paintings - confused between European or American? if European then 1700 to 1800? and if American then 1800 to 1900? and for me in WA it is 2013
Always refused to do Oil paintings on Canvas - it so Male marketed element of the 20th century especially when it comes to Landscape paintings- cant see myself standing in front of a easel and a canvas.
i don't know always preferred water-colour - i feel it is more fragile and feminine.
though to tell the truth - in my final year (BFA Santiniketan) i did few Canvas oil paintings - i still have 3 of them which i gave it to my parents. and my parents feel those are the best ones i have ever done in my life - two decade passed still they think they where the best - yet to prove them.
but the real story is i did 5 paintings on canvas and two of them got stolen from the Hostel - and i decided not to touch canvas and oil colours all my life. and i do daydream one day after 100 years they will be found and auctioned for millions of Rupees (i am sure by then Rupee will be higher than euro or pound or dollars)
Frankly some student must have stolen it re-painted it on top of it - i am sure he would have done some bad oil paintings - no harm daydreaming.
